Method of Preparation

Soak raisins in hot water for about 5 minutes and drain. Cream shortening and add pumpkin, egg, vanilla to it and beat well. Mix all the dry ingredients nicely and add it to the creamed mixture. Mix thoroughly, then add raisins and nuts. Drop them into a greased cookie sheet and flatten them with a fork. Bake at 350 degrees for about 12 minutes.
